一季度基础 is the first set of classes students will take in the Residency Teacher Certification Program. 基础季包括 EDU 2100: Foundational Issues in Education and EDU 2300: 多样性, 股本, 与教育共融. Students should take these courses in their sophomore year. If a student is unable to take these courses by their sophomore year, they should contact the 认证办公室 at soe-cert@joyerianicaragua.com.
Application to the Residency Teacher Certification Program
Formal application to the Residency Teacher Certification Program in the 教育学院 begins in a class session during 一季度基础. You will be given the application and receive guidance on how to complete it and when it is due. You’ll learn whether you have been accepted into the program before you begin Methods Quarter. You may contact the 教育学院 at any time with application inquiries.
申请专业
Students who desire to become teachers must major in a discipline other than Education. There is a separate process for entering your chosen major, which for most disciplines consists of completing the Application for a Major or Minor in Banner to confirm your intended major. Prerequisites and requirements for majors are specified in the SPU本科生目录. The 教育学院 houses two majors: 特殊教育 & 幼儿教育.
转学
Transfer students are required to take the entire Residency Teacher Certification Program at SPU. Any exceptions need to be approved through substitution and petition processes in the 教育学院. Prior to registration at 西雅图 Pacific, you should meet with the 认证办公室 for information about course substitution requirements and procedures.
学士学位阶段后的学生
The post-baccalaureate certification program is a professional program leading to a Washington state Residency 教学 Certificate for teacher candidates who already have a four-year degree. Teacher candidates for this program do not have to earn a second degree. 然而, prior to beginning the certification program, you must meet 教育学院 admission requirements.
